Transitional Commode

We are proud to offer you this outstanding small chest of drawers from the transition period of Napoleon III (approx. 1870). The dream-like aspect of this unique object is supported by its details, created with rosewood and other precious wood inlays. The complex veneer patterns show a peasant girl in front, a flower basket, and a flower tendril ornament on the tabletop. The original brass applications, together with the claw feet, contribute to the antique appearance of the beautiful cabinet. This luxury piece of furniture from France shows a hand-polished shellac finish.
