Pair of Biedermeier Cabinets, Bohemia circa 1830

A pair of rare museum-quality Biedermeier "Prague" Cabinets from around 1830. When we started the elaborate restoration process these cabinets showed its real beauty first after we removed the old patina. A dreamlike grain and an exceptional nut wood marquetry on the pilaster strips came to light. By opening the front door, you can see the very thick nut wood veneer and the countermove veneered cherry wood on the inside. With three compartments that can be easily changed, you will find enough storage space. Other beautiful details are the diamonds-shaped inlayed key blades that were made of black horn as well as the small hand carved wings in the upper corners. This pair of breathtaking Biedermeier Cabinets was finished with hand polished shellac. Biedermeier Cabinets in this quality are really hard to find nowadays. This remarkable pair of Biedermeier Cabinets is definitley one of the most beautiful we have ever had!
