Biedermeier Chest of Drawers/ Credenza, Austria circa 1825

Remarkable Biedermeier Chest of Drawers/ Credenza made of solid cherry wood from the early Biedermeier era in Austria around 1825. The wonderful shaped credenza consists of two parts: a large commode with three drawers and a superimposed smaller vitrine (highboy) with two glass paneled doors and three little drawers. The highboy can also be taken off an be used as a small stand alone vitrine. Wonderful designed brass fittings, the original locks - all fully functional - and a fine hand-polished shellac finish makes this Biedermeier commode or credenza a real masterpiece!
