Biedermeier Conversion Desk/ Commode

This Biedermeier conversion desk/cabinet dates from approx. 1830 and is a classical, elegant piece of furniture. The main body consists of spruce and is veneered with walnut. It contains four small drawers made of cherry wood in the upper part, and three large drawers, which were lacquered during an earlier restoration process. The cover plate made of burr walnut, and the black, ebonized worktop make this desk very beautiful and unique. The original cast brass fittings and solid pointed legs made of walnut add further value to this beautiful "quick conversion” writing desk that originated in Austria.
